| 13 | {Minute} Fairtrade Borough: In accordance with Standing Order 10 to consider the following Notice of Motion to be referred to Cabinet by Council at its meeting to be held on 7 December 2005:- The Council supports the aims of the Fairtrade Foundation (indeed the Cabinet intends to appoint a Fairtrade Champion) to tackle poverty by enabling disadvantaged producers from poor countries to receive a better deal for their labours: The Council: Will take practical steps to support those aims as part of the Council's commitment to Local Agenda 21 including offering Fairtrade coffee and tea at its meetings and will implement Fairtrade principle in its purchasing policies where possible; Supports the local campaign for Harrogate to become a Fairtrade Borough; Commits itself to promote awareness of Fairtrade through the Council's website.
