Minutes
36 Welcome
The Chairman welcomed representatives to the meeting andintroductions were made.
The Chairman reported for information that the Council’s ChiefExecutive, Mr Harold Mosley, was to retire at the end of February2007. A new Chief Executive had been appointed, Miss Janet Waggott,who would be joining the Authority in the New Year.
37 Minutes
The minutes of the last Parish Liaison Meeting held on 7December 2004 were presented (previously circulated).
Resolved
That the minutes of the last ParishLiaison Meeting held on 7 December 2004 be approved and signed bythe Chairman as a correct record.
38 Quality Parish Councils
A presentation was given on the development of Quality ParishCouncils by Elaine Pearson, Regional Development Officer, Yorkshire& Humber Region of the National Association of Local Councils.The presentation highlighted the benefits of Quality Council statusand explained the key stages and criteria required to becomeassured.
39 Parish Charter
The Director of Operations presented a report on thedevelopment of the Ryedale District Council Charter, which set outthe aim to work together for the benefit of the local community.The Charter reflected the increasing importance of partnershipworking and the development of Quality status for localcouncils.
40 Ryedale District Council - Update
The Director of Operations apologised on behalf of RyedaleDistrict Council for the delay in holding this liaison meeting./Arrangements would be made to hold more regular meetings withParishes. In addition, an up-date was provided on the newre-cycling arrangements provided by the Council.
41 District and Parish Elections
Representatives were reminded that the District and ParishElections were to take place on Thursday 3 May 2007. A review ofPolling Stations was currently being undertaken.
It was suggested that the implications of the ElectoralAdministration Act 2000 be considered further at a future meetingwhen it was anticipated that more information would be tohand.
42 Questions from the Floor
The Chairman sought any questions from the floor.
A number of questions were asked around the Council’srecycling and street cleansing services and the Director ofOperations replied on behalf of the Council.
The Chairman thanked representatives for attending anddeclared the meeting closed.
