Hard Facilities Management Lifts Procurement Exercise

PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To undertake a procurement exercise to establish new contracts for Hard Facilities Management Lifts: Servicing and Responsive Maintenance for North Yorkshire Council. 

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

The Hard Facilities Management Lifts: Servicing and Responsive Maintenance contracts established by the former County Council are due to expire on the 31^st March 2024.  The new contracts will also include provision to provide all relevant servicing and maintenance for additional Council properties as other contract arrangements expire. 

A decision will be made to undertake a procurement exercise to establish new contracts for these contracts.  The procurement will commence later this year with a view to having new contracts in place for the 1^st April 2024.  It is proposed that the contracts will be for a duration of three years with options to extend for a further two – two-year periods (resulting in a maximum contract period of seven years). 

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

The procurement exercise will be undertaken by the Council’s Procurement and Contract Management Service.

This is a key decision.  The proposal to procure was entered on the forward plan in February 2023.

RECOMMENDATION

That the procurement exercise to establish new contracts for Hard Facilities Lifts: Servicing and Responsive Maintenance be approved.
