Reason for decision

The subject of this proposal is to accept grant funding of up to £1.2million from the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority (YNYCA) to support the costs of developing investment plans up to 32 possible towns and key service centres across North Yorkshire.

There is the possibility that the development of the investment plans could lead to an increase in travel.  The impact of this will be mitigated by encouraging car sharing and use of public transport.  Events will be hosted in places that are accessible by public transport and start/finish times scheduled to fit with bus and rail timetables.

All projects identified as part of the development of the investment plans will be required to undergo an environmental impact screening assessment as part of the prioritisation process.
