Additional Information and amendment to be included within Appendix 4 – NYC Response to BT – August 2025

Payphone Number 15 Middleham

Amend evidence to state: “The Parish Council has advised that the Parish Councillors accept that the consultation will be looking to remove payphone services for the phone box in Middleham and understand the reasons why.  The Parish Council would consider adopting the phone box.”

Amend response to state: “However, should BT consider to continue to remove the payphone, NYC support the Parish Council to adopt the kiosk for another use.”

And include: “The Parish Council have advised that they would consider adopting the kiosk”

Insert “yes” into relevant column for adoption.

Payphone Number 19 Worton

Amend evidence to state: “NYC have been advised that a group of local residents are considering adopting the phone box for an alternative use.  They have been advised to contact BT on this matter.”

Amend response to state: “However, should BT consider to continue to remove the payphone, NYC support the local resident group who have expressed an interest in adopting the kiosk for another use should they meet the BT criteria for adoption.”

And include: “A group of residents are considering adopting the kiosk.”

Payphone 23 Market Place, Hawes

Amend evidence to state: “The Parish Council have advised that the Hawes payphone incorporates a cash dispenser.  The cash dispenser is a much needed and used facility.  Can you please ensure that this will be retained?”

Amend response: remove reference to adoption of this kiosk by the Parish Council.

Amend response to state: “The Parish Council have advised that the Hawes payphone incorporates a cash dispenser.  The cash dispenser is a much needed and used facility.  Please can BT ensure that this will be retained should the payphone be removed.”

Amend evidence to state: “The Parish Council have advised that they wish to adopt the kiosk”

Amend response to state: “However, should BT consider to continue to remove the payphone, NYC support the Parish Council to adopt the kiosk for another use.”

And include: “The Parish Council have advised that they wish to adopt the kiosk”

Insert “yes” into relevant column for adoption.
