North Yorkshire Healthy You Service – Family Weight Management

• Launched on 1 January 2025.
• 604 referrals in Q4 (Jan–Mar 2025); outcome data not yet available due to assessment timelines.
• Transition period from the previous Weight Management Service.

Adult Weight Management (Previous Contract)

• 252 clients completed the 12-week programme in Q4.
• 67% achieved 5% weight loss, exceeding NICE guidance (30%).
• 132 clients achieved sustained 5% weight loss at 24 weeks.

Stop Smoking Services

• Record-breaking quarter:
• 730+ referrals, 590 accessed the service (79%).
• 23% increase in referrals and 26% increase in access vs Q4 23/24.
• SAQD figures up 42%, 4-week quits up 38%.
• Contributing factors: service expansion, New Year resolutions, marketing.
• Recruitment of a Behavioural Science Officer to enhance engagement and impact.
• Introduction of Allen Carr Easyway method.

NHS Health Check Programme

• 9,404 invites, 3,931 completed checks.
• 713 individuals (18%) identified with CVD risk ≥10%.
• Slight decrease in uptake compared to Q1 24/25, but higher invite numbers.

 Healthy Child Service

• High completion rates for reviews (6–8 week, 9–12 month, 2–2.5 year).
• Lower antenatal and new birth visit rates in Q4 due to staff absences.
• Focus on early language development; 9–36% of children identified as needing support.

Oral Health Promotion

• Supported 30 Early Years settings (1,200 pupils) and 7 Special Schools (800 pupils).
• Online training for 150+ adult social care staff. Learning Zone modules accessed by 68 individuals in Q1 25/26.

North Yorkshire Horizons (Adult Drug & Alcohol)

• Treatment numbers rose from 2,584 to 2,840 in 24/25.
• New target for 25/26: 2,865.
• New website launched with online referral form.

North Yorkshire RISE (Young People’s Drug & Alcohol)

• 143 young people in treatment in 24/25, exceeding target.
• New target for 25/26: 150.
• Increased school engagement and awareness.

Sexual Health Services

• 4,008 attendances in Q4 24/25 (↑8% YoY, ↓2% QoQ).
• STI testing: Slight decrease in clinic and online testing.
• Chlamydia remains most diagnosed STI.
• LARC fittings: YSH: 379 fittings in Q4 (↑1% QoQ, ↓10% YoY). GP Practices: 893 fittings in Q4 (↓3% QoQ).
• Increase in under-16s receiving LARC.

Children & Young People Team

• Poverty Guide for Schools launched: Widely disseminated and available online. Including checklists, and action plans.
• Healthy Schools & Early Years Award Programme:
• • 280 schools registered (80% of county), 164 schools achieved awards.
  • 151 early years settings registered, 32 achieved awards.
• The GUNY Survey 2024: 15,000 pupils were surveyed and results included in key priorities: emotional wellbeing, online safety, vaping, healthy routines, bullying, and PSHE.
• Embedded into the updated Being Young in North Yorkshire plan.
