Appendix B: Children in Care GCSE English and Maths Data

North Yorkshire did not have data recorded over the periods 2007, 2019, 2020 in relation Children in Care achieving 9-4 pass in English and Maths (%).

The reason for this is because the chart presents nationally published data relating to the % of children looked after (for more than 12 months) achieving a Level 4 or above in English and Maths. Where information is not provided for certain academic years for North Yorkshire, this is because the % of those children would equate to 5 or fewer individual children and is therefore supressed to prevent them becoming identifiable.

In addition to the above data, the average mean age of a foster carer is currently 54 years old (Q1 2025/26) and we have been recording ages of foster carers since Q4 2016/17.
