Committee Update Sheet – Thursday 11^th June 2026

We have received one additional letter of objection on the following grounds;

- Traffic congestion at Scotch Corner which affects the entrance to the existing services and Middleton Tyas.

- Suggest Planning Committee visit the site, on a Friday in particular.

- Enough eateries at the services

- McDonalds will add to the traffic

- Litter concerns.

Officers note that these matters are addressed in the committee report specifically the highways section, at 10.39 onwards. Litter is addressed at 10.86 and 10.87 of the report. Concerns regarding the number of eateries is set out at 10.89.
