Standards and Governance Committee Work Programme 2026/27

 

 

 

1.0      PURPOSE OF REPORT

 

1.1      To present to the Committee, for consideration and review, its forward Work Programme for 2026/2027.

 

 

2.0       BACKGROUND

 

2.1      The Committee previously agreed it would be helpful for the Committee to implement a forward Work Programme of its work, as far as this can be anticipated.

 

2.2      The Programme is a standing item on each scheduled ordinary meeting of the Committee and keeps track of matters that the Committee wishes to consider/review.

 

3.0       WORK PROGRAMME

 

3.1      A revised Work Programme for 2026/27 is attached at Appendix 1 to this report for Members’ consideration.

 

3.2      Changes made to the Programme since the last Committee meeting:

 

·         Updating the entries which went to the last meeting to indicate that reports were presented;

·         Inclusion of an item for the Committee’s meeting on 19 June 2026 regarding registration and publication of Councillors’ usual residential address;

·         Inclusion of the two extraordinary meetings on 30 June 2026 and 24 November 2026;

·         Deferral of the item ‘Protocol re Councillors’ Use of Resources’ to the extraordinary meeting on 30 June 2026 to allow the draft Protocol to be considered by Management Board;

·         Including items for the March 2027 meeting;

·         Removal of the entry re Independent Persons’ terms of office from the ‘Matters to note’ section, as two of the Independent Persons have since resigned since it was first included in the Work Programme. Details of the Independent Persons’ terms of office is recorded separately by the Monitoring Officer.

 

3.3      Members are requested to review the Work Programme and determine whether they would wish to make any changes or include any other items.

4.1     There are no financial implications arising from this report.

8.0     RECOMMENDATIONS
