Appointments to Committees and Outside Bodies

Report of the Assistant Chief Executive Legal and Democratic Services

1.0

PURPOSE OF REPORT

1.1

To enable appointments to Committees and Outside Bodies to be considered.

2.0 APPOINTMENTS TO NORTH YORKSHIRE COUNCIL COMMITTEES

2.1 Development Plan Committee

Councillor Lindsay Burr MBE to stand down from the committee and become a named substitute for the committee. A North Yorkshire Independent councillor to be appointed in her place.

2.2 Thirsk and Malton Area Planning Committee

Councillor Lindsay Burr MBE to stand down from the committee and become a named substitute. There is no other North Yorkshire Independent councillor in the area covered by the committee and so this position will become a vacancy.

2.3 Statutory Licensing Committee

Councillor Mike Jordan to stand down from the committee and Councillor Tim Grogan to be appointed in his place.

2.4 Children and Families Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Council Philip Broadbank to stand down from the committee and Councillor Barbara Brodigan to be appointed in his place.

3.0 APPOINTMENTS TO YORK AND NORTH YORKSHIRE COMBINED AUTHORITY COMMITTEES

3.1 The current North Yorkshire Council membership of the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority is as follows:

Councillor Gareth Dadd to stand down from the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority and Councillor Mark Crane to be appointed in his place.

4.0 IMPLICATIONS

4.1 There are no equalities, finance, legal or climate change implications arising from the recommendations in this report.

5.0 REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS

5.1 The appointments are to be made by Council as per the Council’s Constitution.

Recommendation

6.1

That the Council confirms the appointments to current vacancies on the committees, as per sections 2.0 and 3.0 of the report.
