The project to be procured by Direct Award
through the Civil Engineering Framework and placed on the
procurement forward plan to enable works to be completed and the
project delivered by 31 December 2021 with the budget
available.
The project is a great opportunity to improve
this section of route that is in poor condition to enable a wider
range of user groups and community members to benefit from an
all-weather resurfaced section of the Trans Pennine Trail Cycle Way
and Public Footpath,
Allowing the project this way enables works to be completed by 31
December with the budget available preventing any external funding
to be lost.
No alternative as external Sports England
funding will be lost and the project will not go ahead
