exceeded the allocated £40,000.00 budget
Holywell Culvert carries Holywell Beck beneath
the A59 Harrogate to Skipton Rd. Corrosion to the original metal
pipe culvert has caused the culvert to deform and the structure
will continue to deteriorate until the problem is addressed. The
A59 Skipton-Harrogate Rd is a regionally significant road and
repairs are considered a high priority.
Other options to repair the culvert would
cause major disruption on the A59, such as culvert replacement.
Relining with a cured-in place liner is the only practical solution
to maintain the culvert's capacity and minimise disruption to the
economy and travelling public.
