Tender to carry out planned capital works to
Toad Hole Bridge and carry out NYCC statutory duty to maintain its
Highway structures under Highways Act 1980, the bridge requires
strengthening works to ensure it is fit for purpose.
NYCC has a statutory duty to maintain its
Highway structures under the Highways Act 1980. The alternative is
to not do anything, which could result in a continued deterioration
of the structure which we believe would require restrictions on use
in the near future, this which could result in a longer closure and
higher expense to rebuild as well as disruption for any imposed
weight restrictions on quarry traffic which frequently use the
bridge.
