The Provision of Independent Visitors agreement between North Yorkshire County Council and North Yorkshire Youth Limited, commenced on 1st March 2021 and is approaching the end of the agreed initial term of two years

Extension options are documented in the Original Contract and are outlined below:

1.2 The Council may extend this Agreement beyond the Initial Term for two further periods as set out at clauses 1.3 and 1.4 below.
1.3 The Council may extend this Agreement for a period of two years (the “First Extension Period”) by giving not less than 3 months’ notice in writing to the Supplier prior to the expiry of the Initial Term.
1.4 Subject to the Council having exercised its option to extend the Agreement under clause 1.3 above, the Council may extend the Agreement for a further period of one year (the “Second Extension Period”) by giving not less than 3 months’ notice in writing to the Supplier prior to the expiry of the First Extension Period.

North Yorkshire Youth Limited have been consulted in January 2022 and they are agreeable to the extension as defined in the Original Contract.

The decision has been taken to extend the Provision of Independent Visitors agreement.
The first extension term is from 01 March 2023 to 28 February 2025

• The Supplier is considered to be meeting defined criteria set out in the Original Contract.
• The extension options are clearly documented in the Original Contract and the Supplier is happy to continue the provision in accordance with this contract.
• It is a statutory requirement for local authorities to provide independent visitors (IVs) to looked after children who may benefit from the service.
