*re-published: call-in no longer applies* Adult Social Care Data and Cyber Security Discovery Programme grant

Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Health and Adult Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

To accept a grant of £5000 from the Registered Nursing Home Association, acting on behalf
of the Care Provider Alliance to support participation in the Adult Social Care Data and Cyber
Security Programme

Reasons for the decision:

*PLEASE NOTE This decision was originally published on or near the date of the decision and so call in no longer applies. It has been re-published as part of the change in committee management system that we use.*

The programme is supported by the LGA and will investigate in three local authorities how
much knowledge and resilience independent sector care providers have in respect of cyber
security. The project will work with up to 25 randomly selected providers in North Yorkshire.
It will support providers to think about cyber security and it will provide useful information to support the safe shift to more digital ways of doing business within the sector.

Alternative options considered:

To refuse the opportunity to be part of programme. Rejected because:
A) The programme supports NYCC’s strategic ambitions for digital options for customers and suppliers.
B) The Independent Care Group representing care providers supported our application to the programme.
