Decision:

North Yorkshire County Council enter into an agreement with Ryedale District Council to secure a financial contribution to deliver Kirby Misperton Waste Transfer Station (WTS) in return for use of the facility as a depot on terms to be agreed with the Assistant Chief Executive (Legal and Democratic Services) and the Assistant Director Strategic Resources (BES & Central Services).

Reasons for the decision:

*PLEASE NOTE This decision was originally published on or near the date of the decision and so call in no longer applies. It has been re-published as part of the change in committee management system that we use.*

To satisfy operational needs of Ryedale District Council and generate an income for North Yorkshire County Council that enables both authorities to deliver, in partnership, the best overall solution for residents.

Alternative options considered:

Use of Seamer Carr Waste Transfer Station for waste collected by Ryedale District Council. This was rejected because, although it represented a saving for North Yorkshire County Council, it meant an increase in costs for Ryedale District Council and an overall increase in costs for residents.
