Decision details
*Republished - no longer subject to call in* Establishment of an Interim Executive Board
Decision Maker: Corporate Director Children and Young People's Services
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Decision:
To apply to the Department for Education for
powers to appoint an Interim Executive Board (IEB) at Braeburn
Primary and Nursery School
Reasons for the decision:
PLEASE NOTE This decision was originally
published on or near the date of the decision and so call in no
longer applies. It has been re-published as part of the change in
committee management system that we use.
Braeburn went into Special Measures in June 2017. In October 2017
the RSC named Ebor Academy Trust as the preferred Academy sponsor.
Despite a package of improvement support, the board has not
succeeded in driving improvement rapidly enough. This leaves the
school at risk of further decline, which we believe will be best
remedied by an IEB. Ebor Academy Trust is supportive of the
establishment of an IEB. The LA now proposes to use its statutory
intervention powers to apply to the DfE for approval to establish
an Interim Executive Board to secure effective governance and rapid
school improvement
The report considered by the Corporate Director contains

of Schedule 12A Local Government Act 1072 (as amended) and is
therefore exempt from publication.
