*Re-published: call-in no longer applies* Re: Review of Existing Waiting Restrictions and introduction of additional ‘No Waiting at Any Time’, ‘Seasonal No Waiting at Any Time’, ‘No Loading at Any Time’ and “Disabled Parking” Various Streets, Thornto

Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Business and Environmental Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

i. The existing Traffic Regulation Order in respect to the waiting restrictions in Thornton le Dale is revoked and the amended waiting restrictions are implemented by making a new Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

ii. The objectors are notified of the decision within 14 days of the Order being made.

Reasons for the decision:

*PLEASE NOTE This decision was originally published on or near the date of the decision and so call in no longer applies. It has been re-published as part of the change in committee management system that we use.*

Presently some of the existing yellow lines in Thornton le Dale are not legally enforceable through a Traffic Regulation Order. Additionally, where a Traffic Regulation Order exists, some of the yellow lines do not replicate the description in the Order. This obviously causes issues for the Civil Parking Enforcement Officers when they try to address parking violations within the village. Revoking the existing Order and creating a new Order will address these issues. It will also enable the County Council to comply with its duty under Section 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to exercise their functions as road traffic authority so as to secure the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular and other traffic as set out in the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order.
