*Re-published: call-in no longer applies* Re: A19 Chapel Haddlesey – Reconstruction Works

Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Business and Environmental Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

a) The Corporate Director – BES, in consultation with the BES Executive Members, agreed to allocate funding to carry out reconstruction work to the A19 between Chapel Haddlesey and Eggborough.

b) The contract is awarded to Balfour Beatty under the Scape Framework.

Reasons for the decision:

*PLEASE NOTE This decision was originally published on or near the date of the decision and so call in no longer applies. It has been re-published as part of the change in committee management system that we use.*

Enables the County Council to comply with its duty under Section 41 of the Highways Act 1980 to maintain those highways within the County which are recorded as ‘maintainable at public expense’.

To utilise The SCAPE National Civil Engineering Framework (SNCEF). The advantage of using SNCEF is that construction projects delivered through SNCEF have been market tested and core staff and site set up costs, overheads and profits are fixed for the framework term. The remainder of costs are open book and the supply chain managed, therefore Scape contracts deliver locked-in value with competitive tendering.
