That the funding allocations for 2018-2019 as set out in Option 2 (supported by Schools Forum) be implemented. This allocates a further £133k of Exceptional E2 funding to schools for the remainder of the financial year 2018-19, after which the funding ceases.

The Local Authority consulted with schools and academies in the Summer and Autumn Terms 2018 on proposals to change the way in which Exceptional Element 2 (E2) budget is allocated. Notional E2 SEN funding was impacted following changes through the National Funding Formula for Schools Block funding.

Of the three options consulted on, Schools Forum supported the implementation of Option 2, which is to continue with the transitional funding method used for the Summer Term 2018 for the remaining eight months (August 2018 to March 2019) of the financial year 2018-19. The total funding will be cash limited at £133k, and would cease from 1st April 2019.
