i. the acceptance of the 25/26 DEFRA National Landscapes statutory grant totalling £953,853 and inform the Assistant Director Resources, under delegation from the Corporate Directors, Resources (Chief Financial Officer) in accordance with grant acceptance guidance is accepted and.

ii. authority is delegated to the Assistant Director for Environmental Services and Transport in consultation with the Executive Member for Managing our Environment to accept additional allocations of funding or to make minor changes to the programme spend under delegated powers.

Reasons for the decision:

To contribute towards enhancing and conserving natural capital within the two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The National Landscapes through their activities and projects promote natural sequestration and climate adaptation.

Alternative options considered:

To not accept this grant would prevent the National Landscapes from operating. This is an annual allocation of grant funding for the resourcing and operation of the national landscapes.
