Reasons for the decision:

Public notices were published on 8 January 2015, following a period of public consultation, inviting written objections or comments to be submitted on the proposals by 5.00 pm on 5 February 2015. No representations have been received.

In January 2014 new regulations came into force, the School Organisation Regulations 2013, and accompanying guidance was issued by the Department for Education (DfE). These regulations set out who can determine such proposals and following the abolition of the School Organisation Committee, there are a number of determinations which can be undertaken by the Local Authority. Under the continuing arrangements agreed by Executive on 25 September 2007, school organisation decisions, for which the decision maker is the Local Authority, will normally be taken by the County Council’s Executive or, if there are no objections to the Statutory Notice, the decision is delegated to the Executive Members for Schools and for Children’s Services/Special Educational Needs.
