Decision:

The Executive Member for Highways was asked for his views and comments on the draft Highways Infrastructure Asset Management Strategy. This was completed and the draft strategy document can be included in the report submitted to Executive on 7 July 2015 seeking approval for the strategy ahead of adoption by the County Council on 22 July 2015.

Reasons for the decision:

*PLEASE NOTE This decision was originally published on or near the date of the decision and so call in no longer applies. It has been re-published as part of the change in committee management system that we use.*

• The adoption of a long term Highways Infrastructure Asset Management strategy will play a major role in the way Highways and Transportation manage the network. Complementing the policy document, it will serve as an overall framework for the various individual asset management plans.
• It is expected that the adoption of a highways infrastructure asset management strategy will form part of the Highways Management Efficiency Program self-assessment questionnaire. A portion of highways capital funding is dependent on a highway authority scoring highly in this questionnaire.
