Approval by the Corporate Director Community Development has been granted to apply to the York & North Yorkshire Combined Authority for Sustainable and Vibrant High Streets grant funding to support the tourism sector (Food and Drink & Events Development) to the total sum of £260,000, subject to compliance with the terms and conditions set out by the grant funder.

This application for grant funding from the YNYCA presents an opportunity to strengthen two vital sectors within the visitor economy, and support the objectives of the Council Plan, Destination Management Plan, Events Strategy, and the objectives of the YNYCA’s Vibrant Sustainable High Streets fund.

Not to submit a funding application – this option was dismissed as it would be a missed opportunity to secure funding to support these important economic sectors in North Yorkshire.
