The introduction of a new residential disabled parking bay at Bracken Hill, Scarborough as shown in the Plan contained in Appendix A of the report is approved; and

the Assistant Chief Executive (Legal and Democratic Services) be authorised to seal the relevant Traffic Regulation Order in light of the objections received and that the objectors are notified of the making of the Order within 14 days of it being made.

Reasons for the decision:

The resident has requested a disabled parking space within walking distance of their home. The eligibility criteria for this application have been met after undergoing the Stage 1 and Stage 2 assessments.

Alternative options considered:

The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 (TSRGD) do not provide any alternative road marking options for defining a disabled parking bay on the public highway.
