Consideration of requests for additions, deletions or other amendments to the winter gritting routes.

The requests attached to the report for amendments to the current service in line with the Council’s Policy and uniformity of service across the County have been considered. Only one request - Area 1, Item 1 Route 7S - has been approved.

The recommendations are put forward in order for the Authority to appropriately deal with the requests received for alterations to our gritting routes.

There are no alternative options that can be considered, since treating the highway network, so far as is reasonably practicable, to prevent the formation of hazards created by ice or snow is a statutory duty of the Local Highway Authority [Highways Act 1980 S41(1A)].
