To elect a Chair for the duration of the meeting.

Nominations were invited and the vote taken.

Resolved –

That Councillor Carl Les OBE be appointed.

Daniel Harry, Head of Democratic Services and Scrutiny, made the following points relating to the papers for the meeting:

·       Councillor Stuart Parsons had been included, in the invite to the meeting and the membership of the (sub) committee, in error.  Councillor Parsons had resigned from the (sub) committee prior to the last meeting on 22 July 2025.

·       Item 3 on the exclusion of the public refers to items 4 and 7.  There is no item 7 on the agenda.  This was included in error.

The Chair, Councillor Carl Les OBE, noted that an additional report regarding the timescales for recruitment and the shortlisting process was due to be considered at the meeting.

Apologies were received from Councillors Simon Myers and Tom Seston.

Councillor Kevin Foster attended the meeting remotely via MS Teams.

Exclusion of the public from the meeting during consideration of agenda item 4 on the grounds that it involves the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006.

It was unanimously agreed to exclude the public from the meeting during consideration of item 4, and the additional item that had been raised by the Chair, on the grounds that it involves the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006.
