Award of the contract for Whitby Swing Bridge
steel works and resurfacing for £88,614.80 to PBS

An open procurement exercise was carried out.
The planned resurfacing works to Whitby Swing Bridge are not only
to replace the surfacing which has started to fail, but also to
reduce heat transfer through the existing surfacing into the bridge
structure which will reduce the amount of expansion on hot summer
days, this will be done by using a lighter coloured surfacing
material.
