New Framework for Water Retailer (for corporate properties, schools and District Councils as part of LGR)

To undertake a procurement to appoint a water retailer for the supply of water, waste water for the corporate, including traded school & academy portfolios for the new council from 01 April 2023. The replacement contract will include the existing NYCC water meter points and the water meter points from the seven boroughs and districts which will be brought into the new supply contract as their existing contracts end.

The current NYCC water retailer contract is with Business Stream Scotland, provided via a framework contract with YPO, which expires on the 31 March 2023.

The decision has been made to undertake a procurement to appoint a water retailer for the supply of water, waste water for the corporate, including traded school & academy portfolios for the new council from 01 April 2023. The replacement contract will include the existing NYCC water meter points and the water meter points from the seven boroughs and districts which will be brought into the new supply contract as their existing contracts end.

With the decision made to ensure a procurement exercise occurs to enable a new contract to be in place to enable continuity of water supply on contracted rates for vesting day onwards for the new council.
