Purpose:

To seek approval from the Corporate Director of Strategic Resources for the procurement of ambient foods.

Decision:

The decision to undertake a further competition for the Supply of Ambient Foods was approved. The further competition exercise will be conducted via the YPO Food DPS. The contract shall be for a period of 36 months, with the option to extend for a further period of 24 months.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council’s existing contract is due to expire 31 March 2023 and as such as re-procurement exercise is required to establish a new contract.

Alternative options considered:

The use of alternative frameworks in addition to other routes to market have been considered, however utilising YPO’s Food DPS has been identified as the most appropriate option for this provision.
