Approval to submit ‘Expressions of Interest’ and applications for funding to the Devolution Deal Net Zero Fund by 06.02.23

Decision:

The Executive Member for working in localities, including the Council’s response to Climate Change, approved the request to submit the Devolution Deal Net Zero Fund applications and expressions of interest by 06.02.23.

And that authority is delegated to the Corporate Director Business and Environmental Services and the Corporate Director of Strategic Resources to approve the completed applications and expressions of interest for submission by 06.02.23

Reasons for the decision:

To support the implementation of the Carbon Reduction Plan.

Alternative options considered:

(a) Not to apply – rejected as would be a missed opportunity
(b) A range of projects were considered and those that are priorities for carbon reduction were put forward.
