Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Business and Environmental Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

It was agreed that officers develop a package of ‘Sustainable Transport Measures’ for the West of Harrogate, in line with the remit of the National Productivity Investment Fund for the West of Harrogate and that this is reported to the Harrogate and Knaresborough Area Constituency Committee.

The implementation of the Phase 2 Cycle Route will not be taken forward.

It was noted that the Beech Grove modal filter are not reinstated.

Reasons for the decision:

Following public consultation feedback and results regarding a number of proposed options to deliver a constructed off-road cycle route, from Cold Bath Road. Arthurs Avenue to the town centre.

Alternative options considered:

An alternative option would have been to continue with the construction of phase 2 cycle route along Otley Road. As part of the consultation feedback a number of options to deliver the off-road cycle route were considered. The outcome of the consultation was considered and discussed. Given the lack of significant support for any of the Phase 2 or Beech Grove options the recommendation of the report was that the implementation of the Phase 2 Cycle Route is not taken forward. It was recommended that Officers develop a package of ‘Sustainable Transport Measures’ for the West of Harrogate, in line with the
remit of the National Productivity Investment Fund for the West of Harrogate and that this is reported to the Harrogate and Knaresborough Area Constituency Committee.
