This is for approval of the grant forms to
participate a 5 year Nuffield funded research project looking at
the progress and life experiences of care leavers.
The funding is for a part time data person to facilitate the data
sets for the research project. Year 1 was set up from year 2 active
research. ( £33,750 x 4 years = 135k in total)
To approve the acceptance of the £135,00
grant funding from the Department for Education for delivery of
this digital and data grant programme
Children and Young People’s Service were
approached by the Rees Centre to become a site partner for this
research focusing on care leavers and improving their outcomes.
NYCC is a site partner as is Hampshire County Council, focusing on
data science, Greater Manchester focusing on 0–5-year-olds
health outcomes.
The grant offer from the Nuffield Foundation facilitated/managed by
Oxford University, will be used to explore the benefits of an
enhanced data set in respect to Care leavers, ‘The
Information Use project’. This is a five-year research
project concluding in 2026 (commenced October 2021). This project
will require cross departmental support to deliver.
