New Framework for gas supply (for corporate properties, schools and District Councils as part of LGR)
To enter into a new contract for the supply of gas for North Yorkshire Council from the 1st April 2025, with Corona Energy via the LASER Gas Flex 2024 – 2028 (Y22008) framework.
The new supply contract will encompass all of the meter points from the previously separate councils which will be brought into the new contract as their existing contracts complete.
The decision has been made to enter into a new contract for the supply of gas for North Yorkshire Council from the 1st April 2025.
The Authority’s current gas supply contracts with Corona Energy for the former NYCC, Craven District Council, Richmondshire District Council, Ryedale District Council, Harrogate Borough Council, Hambleton District Council and Selby District Council expire on the 31st March 2025. However, the former Scarborough Borough Council’s portfolio are in a separate contract until 31 October 2027.
It is essential, for the continuity across both the corporate property estate and traded customers, that a new supply contract is in place for 1st April 2025 that take into account the requirements of the new authority as a whole. The replacement supply contract will encompass all of the meter points from the previously separate councils which will be brought into the new contract as their existing contracts end.
The decision has been made following a review of all options under a Gateway process to ensure continuity of gas supply on contracted rates for North Yorkshire Council, the Gateway process has taken into account a review of routes to market and consideration of the current situation / volatility within the market.
