To seek approval to the proposals for charges for commercial waste at the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) and bulky waste collection charges for residents for 2024-25.

Decision:

Proposals for fees and charges for 2024/25 as detailed in this report are approved.

Reasons for the decision:

To be fair and equitable to residents across the North Yorkshire Council area a common approach to waste fees and charges is required.

Alternative options considered:

Alternative approaches to pricing were considered and are detailed in the report. The agreed fees and charges set a uniform charge across the North Yorkshire area that meets the needs of low-income households whilst contributing towards the council’s service costs.
