To procure and award an NEC 4 term service maintenance contract for Cawood Swing Bridge, A19 Toll Bridge, A63 Bypass Swing Bridge, Whitby Swing Bridge with a duration of two years. The approximate value of the contract will be £325k.

To procure a maintenance contract for Whitby, Selby Town, Cawood and A63 Bypass Swing Bridges.

The existing maintenance has now ended. The separate contracts for each bridge are being amalgamated into one overriding contract, which will be more efficient to manage.

We could procure 4 separate contracts, however, it is more efficient from a contract management point of view to manage one contract, given that the services provided at each bridge are so similar. The higher contract value is likely to be more attractive to contractors who would otherwise have overlooked the smaller value works.
