Decision Maker: Assistant Director - Prevention & Service Development

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

In consultation with the Head of Housing Market Development, the Assistant Director Prevention and Service Development has agreed to extend the agreement between North Yorkshire Council and Community Integrated Care by 12 months. The Agreement will now expire on 30 September 2025.

Reasons for the decision:

The existing provider has delivered an excellent service which has proved to be successful and beneficial not just to residents but to the wider partnerships involved in the extra care scheme itself. Continuation of the existing contract is also critical in providing stability to the elderly residents of Esk Moors Lodge extra care scheme.

Alternative options considered:

The existing provider is delivering a good quality service and the continuity and stability provided by the extension of the contract for the elderly residents within the scheme is beneficial to their health and wellbeing. For this reason re-procurement of the service was not considered and the extension represented best value.
