Proposal to move to public consultation for a
Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in Scarborough.
The PSPO is intended to protect a public space from persistent or
continuing anti-social behaviour, which is having a detrimental
effect on the quality of life of those in the locality.
The decision was taken to move ahead to public
consultation for the introduction of a new Public Space Protection
Order in Scarborough.
Due to an administrative error, the original decision record stated
the decision was made by Rachel Joyce, Assistant Chief Executive
– Local Engagement, when in fact it was taken by Councillor
David Chance, Councillor Chance, Executive Member for Corporate
Services
To provide an additional tool to tackle anti-social behaviour
linked to consumption of alcohol in the street, in the Scarborough
area.
The decision was to move to public
consultation, to gather feedback as to whether the public would be
in agreement with the proposed changes.
