Purpose:

Procurement for Water Retailer Contract to commence from the 1st April 2025

Decision:

To award a contract to appoint a new Water Retailer for the supply of water, waste water for the corporate, including traded school & academy portfolios for North Yorkshire Council, via a direct award under the YPO Framework 1181 to Wave.

The new contract will be entered into as soon as possible, to ensure North Yorkshire Council has consistency of Water supply and services, due to early termination of the current contract which was due to run until the 31st March 2025.

Reasons for the decision:

A new contract is required to be entered into as soon as possible, to ensure North Yorkshire Council has consistency of Water supply and services, due to early termination of the current contract which was due to run until the 31st March 2025.

A Gateway report has been considered in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules.

This is a key decision. The Water Retailer contract was entered on the forward plan on the 29th May 2024.
