To undertake a procurement exercise to establish new arrangements for the delivery for Hard Facilities Management Asbestos Abatement – Asbestos Removal for North Yorkshire Council.

A decision has been made to undertake a procurement exercise to establish new arrangements for the delivery of Hard Facilities Management Asbestos Abatement – Asbestos Removal, as the contracts established by the former County Council for this are due to expire. The new arrangements will also include provision to provide all relevant servicing and maintenance for additional Council properties as other contract arrangements expire, as well as provision for Property’s Traded Service Property Solutions Clients.

The procurement will commence early in 2025 with a view to having the new arrangements in place for the 1st September 2025. It is proposed that the contract will be for a duration of three years with options to extend for a further two – two-year periods (resulting in a maximum contract period of seven years).

The decision was due to be made on the 20th December 2024 however has been delayed for some internal discussions to occur around the area following the Christmas holiday period. The decision is line with the report that was issued in relation to the decision on the 12th December 2024.
