Purpose:

The purpose of the report is to seek approval to purchase 3 properties from a private developer for use for the Refugee Resettlement Fund for the Local Authority Housing Fund Round 3.

Approval was given in August 2024 to acquire properties for the purposes of the Local Authority Housing Fund Round 3, which also gave approval for individual properties to be purchased under delegated authority to the Assistant Director for Housing.

Decision:

Approval has been granted to acquire 3 x 4 bedroom properties to meet the requirements of the Local Authority Housing Fund.

Reasons for the decision:

To enable the Council to purchase 3 x 4 bedroom homes in order to assist in fulfilling our requirements for the “large resettlement” element of the Local Authority Housing Fund Round 3.
