Purpose:

To consider the proposed funding allocation methodology for the DfE Early Years Expansion Grant 2025-26 funding to early years’ providers for the 2025-26 financial year. To approve the recommendation in respect of the funding allocation methodology to be used for the allocation of the grant to early years providers operating within North Yorkshire.

Decision:

The Corporate Director - Children and Young People’s Service, in conjunction with the Executive Members for Children and Young People, agrees the recommendations in respect of the distribution of the Department for Education (DfE) Early Years Expansion Grant 2025-26 (EYEG 2025-26) for the 2025/26 financial year for early years providers

Reasons for the decision:

The local authority must determine a distribution methodology for the EYEG 2025-26 to early years providers. The proposed distribution methodology reflects the DfE recommended approach for local distribution.
