To allow a Discretionary Top Up Grant of £15,000.00 to provide garden fencing, a level access shower and the bedroom and an existing ground floor room to have specialist safety padding installed for the disabled client. Total value of the adaptations will be over £50K with the
mandatory, discretionary and Social Services funding in place.
Further to a consultation carried out with the Disabled Adaptations Advisory Group it was agreed that the most cost-effective and practical solution to meet the needs of the applicant was to provide safety padding to both the bedroom and a downstairs room, fencing to the garden and a level access shower enabling the parents to continue to safely care for the child at home.
