Decision Maker: Corporate Director of Business and Environmental Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

Executive Members have approved the proposal that North Yorkshire County Council act as the Accountable Body for the Yorkshire Derwent Partnership

Executive Members have approved the recommendation that an Accountable Body agreement will be drawn up which the Director of Business and Environmental Services will enter into on behalf of the Council.

Reasons for the decision:

*PLEASE NOTE This decision was originally published on or near the date of the decision and so call in no longer applies. It has been re-published as part of the change in committee management system that we use.*

North Yorkshire residents will benefit from the work of the Yorkshire Derwent partnership (YDP). The ambition of YDP is to attract significant funding collectively to deliver large scale landscape improvements in the YDP catchment area and this requires an organisation of sufficient size to manage these budgets. As the majority of the Yorkshire Derwent river catchment lies within North Yorkshire, and North Yorkshire County Council is the lead flood authority, North Yorkshire County Council is a key partner to take on the role of accountable body.

Alternative options considered:

None apart from not to act as the Accountable Body.
