Is subject to call in?: No
To approve grant allocations over £50,000 for the delivery of projects related to the North Yorkshire Get Britain Working Trailblazer Programme.
The decision has been taken by Corporate Director of Resources in consultation with Assistant Chief Executive Legal and Democratic Services.
The overarching key decision for approving the North Yorkshire Get Britain Working Trailblazer programme was made by the Executive on 15th July 2025.
Decisions on that occasion were:
1) The Executive agrees to the application of grant funding of four million, three hundred and ninety-one thousand, nine hundred and six pounds (£4,391,906) to support the Government’s Get Britain Working Trailblazer programme; and in the event that the application is approved
2) That the acceptance of the Grant be delegated to the Corporate Director Resources in consultation with the Executive Member for Corporate Services
3) To delegate authority to agree and enter into any associated agreements, including but not limited to the Grant Agreement with the YNYCA to access and deliver these funds, to the Corporate Director Resources in consultation with the Assistant Chief Executive Legal and Democratic Services.
Further, the Council Constitution Access to Information Procedure Rules requires that grant agreements over £50,000 are subject to approval as per section 19.3. Five of the associated grants for this scheme exceed £50,000.
The grant allocations for these five projects are required in order to fulfil the requirements of the North Yorkshire Council Get Britain Working Trailblazer programme and the associated, agreed projects.
Not to approve the grant allocations. This would result in failure to deliver the North Yorkshire programme as agreed.
