Decision:

It is recommended that:

a) The proposed 40mph Speed limit on Lund Sike Lane as advertised is implemented by
making a Traffic Regulation Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

b) The Objectors are advised accordingly and notified of the making of the Order
within 14 days of it being made.


Reasons for the decision:

The proposed 40mph speed limit is more appropriate for the environment and character of the road. It is less likely to be disregarded by drivers and is considered to accord with national guidance ”Setting Local Speed Limits”.

It is also consider that the proposed 40 mph speed limit will enable the County Council to comply with its duty under Section 122(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to exercise their functions as road traffic authority so as to secure the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of vehicular and other traffic (including pedestrians), as set out in the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order.
