Purpose:

To seek approval for the procurement for the Supply of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, and Dairy Products including Cheese

Decision:

The Corporate Director, Strategic Resources has approved the decision to undertake a further competition for the Supply of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, and Dairy Products including Cheese. The further competition exercise will be conducted via the YPO Food DPS. The contract shall be for a period of 29 months, with the option to extend for a further period of 24 months.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council’s existing contract is due to expire 8th November 2021 (3rd January 2022 should the optional extension be utilised), and as such as re-procurement exercise is required to establish a new contract.

Alternative options considered:

The use of alternative frameworks in addition to other routes to market have been considered, however utilising YPO’s Food DPS has been identified as the most appropriate option for this provision.
