Purpose:

To make a decision on the procurement process required to establish a new contract for the Supply of Fresh Meat and Frozen Products

Decision:

The Corporate Director, Strategic Resources has approved the decision to undertake a further competition for the Supply and Delivery of Fresh Meat and Poultry, and Frozen Products. The further competition exercise will be conducted via the YPO Food DPS. The contract shall be for a period of 24 months, with the option to extend for a further period of 24 months.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council’s existing contract is due to expire 31 March 2022 and as such as re-procurement exercise is required to establish a new contract.

Alternative options considered:

The use of alternative frameworks in addition to other routes to market have been considered, however utilising YPO’s Food DPS has been identified as the most appropriate option for this provision.
