Purpose:

To seek approval to extend the information and advice service contract provided by Citizens Advice North Yorkshire

Decision:

It has been agreed to extend the current contract for the provision of a North Yorkshire Information and Advice Service for 2 years from 1st April 2022 to the 31st March 2024.

Reasons for the decision:

The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is a trusted and recognised public facing organisation which provides holistic advice and information covering a broad spectrum of topics including debt, housing, unemployment, benefits, bankruptcy. It provides free, confidential, and impartial legal advice, information, and support across North Yorkshire and work with over 200 partners.

The CAB meets all KPIs, attends all contract monitoring meetings and routinely and reliably provides quarterly reports and extensive updates in relation to its performance.

The service has been provided on an initial term of five years from 1 April 2017 to the 31 March 2022. The two year extension is provisioned for in the current contract.
