Seek acceptance of capital funding from the Environment Agency totalling £200,000, spread over three years 22/23, 23/24 and 24/25. This collaborative agreement will provide project management for the Foss Catchment Project.

Authorisation is granted to accept capital funding from the Environment Agency totalling £200,000 – spread over three years 2022/23, 23/24 and 24/25 and approval for the Corporate Director, Strategic Resources to accept the grant.

This is continuation of a high profile partnership project involving NYCC and the Environment Agency that has the potential to be replicated in other catchments. The project will deliver benefits to the Water Framework Directive in mitigating the impact of sediment on ecology but also benefits for flood risk and reducing maintenance for flood defence assets
